Cowboy Mouth was a collective of '80s rock and roll & roll survivors -- musicians with little new wave and alternate connections world Health Organization aspired to AOR stardom. Formed in the early '90s, after alternative rock had broken into the mainstream, the group coalesced AOR with alternative and roots-rock influences on a fistful of indie releases earlier they signed with MCA Records in 1996.

Alice Paul Sanchez (vocals, guitar) had antecedently recorded as a solo creative person earlier teaming up with Fred LeBlanc (vocals, drums). The geminate formed the Backbeats, wHO were transient. After their breakup, Sanchez affected to New York, where he continued to perform solo. In 1988, he returned to New Orleans; LeBlanc, wHO had precisely finished playing with Dash Rip Rock, had Sanchez fall in his unexampled band. The duette began jam with Griffith (lead guitar, vocals), wHO had just left hand the Red Rockers, a new wave band wHO had a hit with "People's Republic of China." The trinity played with a diversity of bassists until 1993 when Rob Savoy, the former frontman for the Blue Runners, joined the lot. The band released their low album, Mouthing Off, late in 1993 on the sovereign Viceroy Records. Two age later, they released It Means Escape on the Monkey Hill label.

By 1995, the group's next had big big sufficiency to take in attention from major labels. Cowboy Mouth distinct to sign with MCA in early 1996, and they recorded their major-label debut, Are You With Me, with manufacturer Michael Wanchic during Mardi Gras of that class. The album was released in the summer of 1996. The following bounce, they released Live on Monkey Hill; Mercyland appeared a class later, and both All You Need Is Live and Easy followed in 2000. Disappointing gross revenue prompted Atlantic to flatten the lot after Easy, simply Cowboy Mouth, undettered as ever, level with the divergence of bassist Rob Savoy, rose to the social function and released the blistery Uh-Oh on the independant Bayside label the next year. Voodoo Shoppe, this time for Eleven Thirty records, arrived in 2005.
